What is the organization about? Dennis & Pillar Health and Wellness Education Center (DPHWEC).

 We are a NON-governmental health and wellness education center in an underdeveloped country, Liberia, WEST AFRICA. Founded in 2025, DPHWEC aims to provide a preferential option for the poor by delivering health education.

Essential Medication education & Assistance

  

 We will teach the underprivileged how to take the necessary medications. Additionally, it calls for straightforward communication, the teach-back approach, visual aids, and addressing underlying socioeconomic constraints.  

 Pain & Fever

  • Acetaminophen (Tylenol): For pain and fever.
  • Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin): For pain, fever, and inflammation (NSAID).
  • Aspirin: Pain, fever, and inflammation; also for heart/stroke prevention (consult doctor).
  • Naproxen Sodium (Aleve): Longer-lasting pain relief (NSAID). 

Allergies & Colds

  • Antihistamines: Loratadine (Claritin), Cetirizine (Zyrtec), Fexofenadine (Allegra), Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) for sneezing, itching.
  • Nasal Sprays: Fluticasone (Flonase) for nasal inflammation; Oxymetazoline (Afrin) for congestion.
  • Decongestants: Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) or Phenylephrine (Sudafed PE) for stuffiness; Dextromethorphan for dry cough; Guaifenesin (Mucinex) for chest congestion. 

Digestive Health

  • Antacids: Tums, Rolaids, Maalox for heartburn.
  • Anti-diarrheals: Loperamide (Imodium) or Bismuth Subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol).
  • Laxatives: Docusate (stool softener), Milk of Magnesia, or Miralax. 

First-Aid & Topical

  • Antibiotic Ointment: Neosporin, Bacitracin to prevent infection.
  • Hydrocortisone Cream: For rashes, bug bites, itching.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide: To clean minor cuts.
  • Alocane Burn Gel: For minor burns. 

Other Essentials

  • Motion Sickness Meds: Dimenhydrinate (Dramamine).
  • Thermometer: For fever checks.
  • Bandages & Gauze: For cuts and scrapes.

 Childhood & Adolescence (Ages 0-18)This comprehensive schedule protects against many diseases, including: 

  • DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Polio (IPV)
  • HepA & HepB (Hepatitis A & B)
  • Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)
  • PCV (Pneumococcal Conjugate)
  • Rotavirus
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Influenza (Flu) (Annual)
  • COVID-19 (Updated)
  • Meningococcal (MenACWY & MenB)
  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus) 

Adults (19+)Schedules shift to boosters and vaccines for new risks, including: 

  • Tdap/Td: Tdap booster every 10 years (Td booster if you never had Tdap).
  • MMR: If born in 1957 or later and not immune.
  • Varicella: 2 doses if born in 1980 or later without immunity.
  • Shingles (RZV): Recommended for adults 50+.
  • Pneumococcal: For ages 50+ (PCV20 or PCV15/PPSV23 combo).
  • HPV: Recommended for adults up to age 45 if not previously vaccinated.
  • COVID-19: Updated vaccines as recommended.
  • Hepatitis A & B: For at-risk adults.
